Abstract

High performance computing (HPC) is at the heart of a big part of modern science and engineering. Many large scale scientific applications, from climate modeling to space weather modeling to medical image processing, rely on HPC tools and hardware to answer difficult scientific questions.

I will discuss several application areas I have worked on, and the kinds of software tools we have built to enable applications to effectively utilize the enormous computing power available from modern HPC systems.
