Abstract

Online programming exercises are a useful way to provide opportunities for students in introductory computer science courses to practice fundamental techniques outside class.  In addition, they provide an interesting source of data about student performance, and more generally, how students learn to program.  This talk will present results from two recent studies of data collected from programming exercise systems.
